How to Choose Your Perfect Crizal Lenses
Welcome to our step-by-step guide to help you select the ideal Crizal lenses for your eyewear. Follow these simple steps to customize your lenses according to your vision needs and lifestyle.
Step 1: Select Your Lens Type
Start by choosing the lens type that suits your vision and lifestyle needs:
Clear Lenses
Standard clear lenses for everyday use, providing excellent visual clarity without any tint or color. Perfect for those who want pure, unaltered vision.
Clear with Blue Light Protection
Features Crizal’s proprietary BlueUV Capture technology that filters harmful blue light from digital screens and UV rays, while maintaining the appearance of clear lenses.
Transitions Gen S
Photochromic lenses that automatically darken outdoors and return to clear indoors. The newest generation offers faster adaptation and better protection.
Step 2: Select Your Lens Index
The lens index determines how thin and lightweight your lenses will be. Choose based on your prescription strength:
How to Choose: Check your prescription for both the “sphere” (SPH) and “cylinder” (CYL) values. Add these numbers together (ignoring the + or – signs) to determine the total power. Then select the index based on the recommendations below.
1.50 Index
For prescriptions between ±0.00 to ±2.50 diopters. Standard thickness, suitable for mild prescriptions.
1.56 Index
For prescriptions between ±2.50 to ±2.75 diopters. Slightly thinner than standard lenses.
Polycarbonate (1.59 Index)
Recommended for rimless or half-rim frames and prescriptions less than ±4.00 diopters. Impact-resistant material.
1.60 Index
For prescriptions between ±2.75 to ±4.50 diopters. Thinner and lighter than standard lenses.
1.67 Index
For prescriptions between ±4.50 to ±6.50 diopters. High-index lenses that are significantly thinner.
1.74 Index
For prescriptions above ±6.50 diopters. Ultra-high index lenses for strong prescriptions, providing the thinnest option available.
Important: If you have a rimless or semi-rimless frame, we strongly recommend selecting the Polycarbonate (1.59) option for better durability and to prevent chipping or cracking, regardless of your prescription (if under ±4.00).
