A safety frame is only as safe as the lens in it. Ordinary plastic (CR-39) and glass lenses can break into sharp pieces, so we never fit them in a safety frame. We glaze every pair ourselves in Abu Dhabi, following international safety-eyewear practice, and choose the lens by your prescription strength:

• Polycarbonate (standard) — the industry-standard safety lens: highly impact-resistant, light, and blocks 100% of UV. Fitted as standard for prescriptions up to ±6.00.
• 1.60 MR-8 photochromic grey — for people who move between indoors and the sun: clear inside, darkens to around 50% outdoors. 100% UV protection.
• Polycarbonate Transitions Gen S — the fastest light-adaptive lens in a polycarbonate material; up to 70% dark in sunlight, clear indoors.
• 1.67 high index — recommended where polycarbonate or MR-8 is not feasible for the prescription, typically above ±6.00. High-index material is denser, and the lens thickness at these powers contributes to its strength. 100% UV protection, available clear, photochromic grey or with Transitions Gen S.

All of these lenses block 100% of UV as standard. Prescriptions above ±9.00 are handled personally — send us your prescription on WhatsApp.

Why can’t my normal lenses go into a safety frame?
Standard CR-39 plastic and glass lenses can shatter into sharp pieces. Safety frames are glazed only with impact-rated materials — polycarbonate as standard, or 1.67 high index where polycarbonate is not feasible for the prescription. We fit them ourselves in Abu Dhabi.

Do the lenses block UV?
Yes. Polycarbonate, MR-8 and high-index lenses block 100% of UV as standard, clear or photochromic.

Can I have lenses that darken outdoors?
Yes — choose Photochromic in the lens selector: 1.60 MR-8 grey (up to about 50% dark) or polycarbonate Transitions Gen S (up to 70% dark, faster). Both are impact-rated and block 100% of UV.

Can you fit progressive or bifocal safety lenses?
Yes — message us on WhatsApp with your prescription; progressive safety lenses are quoted by hand so we can confirm the fitting height on this frame.

Do you supply company or bulk PPE orders?
